About the project
Hala started alone with a needle, thread and offcuts of cloth. Seven embroiderers from her neighbourhood now work with her, each from home, while Hala prepares the cloth, thread and patterns, checks quality and takes the orders. The studio prices every piece in writing by the hours it takes, so each embroiderer knows her pay before she starts.
