ANQA is a programme that supports women in the Gaza Strip to build and grow their own small businesses: intakes with announced dates, review against written criteria, and hands-on support that ends in a working project with an income.
ANQA works with women in the Gaza Strip who are building their own businesses, or building them again: embroiderers turning tatreez into an income, tailors and dressmakers, home food producers making pastries, pickles and preserves, women running a small shop or stall, freelancers in design, translation and data entry, and teachers giving private lessons from home. The programme rests on a single idea: serious support begins with a clear standard, passes through a written review, and ends in a project that works and earns.
We accept applications in intakes with announced dates rather than year-round. That is deliberate. When applications are compared within the same intake and against the same criteria, the decision becomes explicable to the applicant and to the programme team alike. Every application is read by more than one reviewer, and the decision and its reasons are recorded in an internal file that is kept.
Support begins after acceptance. It is neither a passing consultation nor a grant that is paid out and forgotten: it is working sessions on management, pricing and marketing, regular follow-up, and introductions to the expertise a project needs at the stage it is actually in, until it reaches its next step.
What is published about the women in the programme and their projects is published on their authority alone. No name, no photograph, no contact detail and no story without her explicit, recorded consent. She can refuse without it affecting her place in the programme, and she can withdraw consent at any time; withdrawing it removes the content from this site.
The same stages for every applicant, in the same order, with no parallel track.
The programme opens for applications in an intake with an announced date. One form, one submission, and a reference number that is used in every later exchange.
The application is read against the criteria published on the objectives page. The decision is the programme's, and it is sent to the address the applicant gave us.
Support starts once an application is accepted: working sessions, regular review of progress, and introductions to the expertise the project needs at its current stage.
A project is published in the public directory only with its owner's consent. That consent can be withdrawn at any time, and withdrawing it removes the page from the site.
